South Sudan: Overshadowed Conflict: Arms Supplies Fuel Violations in Mayom County, Unity State

This report (2012) focuses on fighting during 2011 in Mayom County – in the western part of Unity State – between the SPLA and armed opposition forces originally loyal to Peter Gadet and other Nuer commanders. Rooted in the region’s long-standing ethnic and political divisions, the conflict in Mayom County has been one of the many localized conflicts in the wider region.

Together we are building a movement for better aid in South Sudan.
