“Guns are for the government”: An evaluation of a BICC advisory project on state-owned arms control in South Sudan

This report evaluates the results of a cooperative effort between BICC and the government of South Sudan to improve the management of state-owned arms and ammunition, and tries to draw lessons for interventions on arms control in the future, not only in South Sudan but also in other countries.

The CSRF, hosted by Saferworld and swisspeace, was established in 2016 to support the aid sector in South Sudan to be more conflict-sensitive. We provide analysis, convene discussions, share learning, and support capacities to strengthen positive contributions to peace and reduce the risks of unintended harm. Together we are building a movement for better aid in South Sudan.
