This report presents the results of a 4 week field study of the social and anthropological factors behind local governance structures in Southern Sudan – concentrating on the areas of Aweil East and Aweil Centre in Northern Bahr el Ghazal.

The CSRF, hosted by Saferworld and swisspeace, was established in 2016 to support the aid sector in South Sudan to be more conflict-sensitive. We provide analysis, convene discussions, share learning, and support capacities to strengthen positive contributions to peace and reduce the risks of unintended harm. Together we are building a movement for better aid in South Sudan.
